For the vast majority of our customers, a roof box and roof bars will be used once a year at most, and most often maybe every two years.  The cost of buying the equipment averages around £550 – £600 for the roof box and roof bars from a high street company.  Our one week hire charge of £75 saves around £500 compared to the cost of buying and removes the financial worry of wondering how many times you will actually use the roof box.  The other consideration is roof bars as more often than not, if you changed your vehicle in the future it would mean having to buy new roof bars that will fit the new vehicle.  Another big consideration is the space these roof boxes and roof bars take up.  Even if you have a garden shed or a garage, you will be surprised how much space they take away, especially considering the amount of time they actually get used.  And then finally there is the safety side.  By using a company like ourselves, you and your family will have full peace of mind that the equipment is all professionally fitted, removing any doubt at all as to whether the equipment has been fitted correctly if you did it yourself.

All of our roof boxes are 470 litres in size.  This is the perfect size for 99% of customers and vehicles.  To give a comparison, an average hatchback car boot is around 420 litres in size so our roof boxes will literally give you 50 litres more than another average car boot space.

Absolutely you can.  We have lots of customers who travel around Europe with our equipment fitted and find the extra storage space extremely useful.  Just be sure to notify the relevant ferry service or Eurostar due to the additional height of the vehicle with equipment fitted, but this is usually just an easy tick box option on the booking site.

All we need to know is your car registration and we can tell you if there is a fixing kit available. In reality we can fit 99% of standard UK cars.

On average it only takes between 20 to 30 minutes to fit all the equipment, show you how to use it, and have you on your journey away

We do not require any payment at all up front, so simply pay on the day of your fitting by card, cash or bank transfer, whichever is best for you.

Please bring on the day of fitting proof of address which could be either your driving licence, or utility bill/bank statement. 

All of our boxes are Thule Manufactured and are waterproof and lockable. They are made of abs plastic and have undergone rigorous crash testing.

The two companies have the same owner.  West Midlands Roof Box Hire trades from Tamworth and mainly serves customers throughout Tamworth, Birmingham and surrounding areas.  South Staffs Roof Box Hire trades from Codsall and mainly serves customers throught Wolverhampton and surrounding areas.  The benefit to our customers is that they have the choice of using either location to suit their needs.
